In a move that is likely to benefit the customers, two of India's biggest domestic airlines Jet and Air Deccan have decided to join hands for a seat sharing arrangement across all sectors across the country.
According to Air Deccan’s MD, Capt G R Gopinath, ‘‘We have finalised a seat sharing arrangement where in case a Jet Airways flight is cancelled a person holding the Jet boarding pass can board an Air Deccan flight operating on the same route,’’ .
With airlines increasingly facing pressure on their margins, such an arrangement is likely to help both the parties in offsetting losses due to cancellations.
Air Deccan also has a similar seat sharing arrangement with SpiceJet in limited sectors.
