Bharti All Set To Hop Into The Retail Bandwagon

Not to miss the retail boom in India, Bharti Enterprises Ltd is close to finalising an overseas partner for its proposed retail venture across India.

According to Bharti's company chairman Sunil Bharti Mittal, talks are on with US-based Wal-Mart, Britain's Tesco Plc and Carrefour for its retail plans and even Tesco was a strong contender.

Once the partner is finalized, the retail venture will begin operations early next fiscal year starting April 2007, he said.
