Apex industry body Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) has appealed to the various state governments not to enforce a ban on Cola companies amid reports of pesticide content in their drinks.

According to FICCI President SK Poddar, if the various state governments start announcing a ban without following a due process of law India's credibility as a law-abiding country may come into question which might hamper future investments.

Karnataka had on Wednesday decided to ban the sale of Coca-Cola and Pepsi in educational institutions and hospitals, while Rajasthan, Punjab, Madhya Pradesh and Gujarat have banned the sale of Pepsi and Coca-Cola in educational institutions and government offices.
