Asia stocks surge on Wall Street gains; Nikkei up almost 2% (Market Watch)

HONG KONG (MarketWatch) -- Asian stocks surged Thursday, rising for a fourth straight day on the back of Wall Street gains, with Japan's Nikkei Average climbing more than 300 points in holiday-resumed trading as Sony Corp. and other export-related shares gained after the yen weakened against the dollar.
