Inflation Touches Breaches 5% Mark

Inflation crossed 5 per cent mark for the week ended August 26 mainly due to increase in the prices of food articles including vegetables and wheat.

The wholesale price-based inflation soared to 5.01 per cent during the week under review from 4.91 per cent in the previous week and 3.33 per cent during the corresponding week last year.
