According to a survey done by a telecom magazine, mobile users' satisfaction level has dropped largely in 2006 as compared to last year cutting across different circles and cities irrespective of operators
They survey suggests that the service levels deteriorated more in the metro circles as compared to the A, B and C circles.
"Of the 10 operators, only Aircel and Tata Teleservices have improved their satisfaction level in 2006. With the Indian telecom industry adding nearly 7 lakh connections every month, the operators have not put in matching efforts to increase the satisfaction level," it said.
The survey also supports Telecom regulator TRAI's report which said that the quality of service of mobile operators has deteriorated over the last five months with number of points of Interconnection having congestion being increased by over 50%.
Telecom industry experts also believe that since the telecom cat has been let out of the bag, there is a strong need to have a well-formulated policy and rules to consolidate the current position of the Indian telecom industry.
