India's biggest telecom service provider Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) has alleged that Bharati Telecom owned Airtel was deliberately locking signals for its cellone subscribers in a bid to tarnish its reputation.

According to the BSNL officials they had honoured the agreement between the two companies and kept the company's machines open for receiving Airtel signals but the same was not being reciprocated by Airtel.

The officials also said that a complaint letter had already been sent to the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) for an immediate intervention in this issue.
