Petrochem Hub Policy Likely By September

The Cabinet is likely to approve the policy framework for proposed petroleum, chemicals and petrochemicals investment regions (PCPIR) in September, while the comprehensive petrochemicals policy could get the nod in October.

The national policy on petrochemicals was announced in February 2005 and a draft policy was prepared and finalised internally. Regarding the PCPIR policy, the officials said the government discussing various issues like framework for the developnment of these investment regions.
