By Indiapressagency.com on September 04,2006

In order to control the rising cases of cheating of Indian workers by various Bahraini firms, the Indian embassy in Bahrain has blacklisted a total of 49 companies. The embassy is likely to pass on the list to the Indian government in order to forewarn potential recruits.

According to Indian Ambassador to Bahrain Balkrishna Shetty, the list includes firms who kept workers in cramped living quarters or unhygienic conditions, failed to pay their salaries on time, physically abused them or had not provided safety measures at worksites.
